Get to know Josie
Melody: Hey, Josie! Thanks for chatting to us. We’re so excited to welcome you and the Majestics to LiveBand Entertainment as our latest party band for hire. Can you tell us a bit more about what performing means to you?
Josie: Of course! I started singing and songwriting at 10 years old, and by 14 years old I was taking singing lessons. I’d say that singing is my biggest passion and purpose in life.
Melody: It must feel so great to do what you love! Josie and the Majestics have performed at loads of great venues across the UK. Is there a favourite one you can recommend to our readers?
Josie: I recently performed at Matt and Phred’s, an amazing Jazz venue in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The audience were fantastic! They run live jazz nights 6 days a week – if you’re in the area I’d definitely check it out.
Melody: Sounds amazing. And speaking of performing, what’s your favourite memory from your time as a live musician?
Josie: Definitely performing my original music for the first time at a local festival aged 17!
Melody: You’ve come a long way since then. But where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
Josie: I’d love to be releasing more music and, of course, touring with the band.
Melody: And finally, it’s a tough one to finish on, but who is your musical inspiration?
Josie: It’s hard to pick just one – so I’m giving you three! I’d say Minnie Riperton, Dinah Washington and Jill Scott.
