What a day! Our 8-piece band Sound, had the honour of performing at Selina and Dylan’s beautiful wedding in North Muskham, Newark. From the moment the band arrived at St. Wilfred’s Church, the day was filled with love and laughter. And, of course, some pretty fantastic music too!
Setting the scene for a stunning ceremony
Selina and Dylan tied the knot at the picturesque St. Wilfred’s Church. As guests arrived, Sound’s pianist and singer Melody complimented the beautiful backdrop. Performing 30 minutes of elegant and soothing music to set the scene, she drew plenty of compliments from the waiting crowd.
The happy couple had also carefully chosen two beautiful songs to make their ceremony even more special. As the bridal party made their entrance, Melody played “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”, a deeply meaningful song for the couple.
Then, when it was time for the newlyweds to leave, the whimsical and nostalgic “Never Ending Story” accompanied them out of the church. What a perfect way to signal the start of their next chapter together!
Sunshine, Ice Cream, and Champagne at Old Hall Farm
After the ceremony, Melody didn’t have to go far. In fact, it was just a short walk across the road to Old Hall Farm. This was where Selina’s brother hosted the reception, laying on champagne and ice cream under the sun. To add to the atmosphere, Melody provided another hour of beautiful music, playing a variety of songs to suit all tastes.
Sound brings the party
The evening reception was held in Selina’s brother’s garden, inside a fabulous tipi. Hats off to Beth Clayton and her incredible team at Sami Tipi for organizing such an unforgettable celebration. Every detail was on point!
After a quick (and much-needed) power nap in the car, Melody was back in action with the full Sound band in tow. It was time to get the party started!
Sound kicked off the evening with a special request from Selina’s daughter: “Top of the World” by The Carpenters. It’s a song Selina sings to her daughter at bedtime, and the look on her face when the band started to play it was priceless. All the guests sang along. It really was one of those magical moments to cherish forever.
Dancing, Conga Lines, and Brass Section
As the night rolled on, the party only got better! Sound’s brass section was a massive hit, taking to the dance floor, weaving through the guests, and even leading a fantastic conga line. The energy was electric! It was so fantastic to see all the guests singing, dancing, and celebrating Selina and Dylan from start to finish.
