First Dance Song

By 17/11/2022 No Comments

We all love a soppy first dance song, but why do we do it? It’s because the guests of honour traditionally opened the dance at formal balls in bygone days. At a wedding, obviously the guests of honour are the bride and groom! It sort of signifies the end of the formalities, and the beginning of the rest of the night! Once the first dance is over, all the other guests can join the happy couple on the dance floor, and kids can start skidding on their knees doing aeroplane impressions!

You can look at it another way though. It’s almost like an extension of the couple’s wedding vows to each other. It can actually be the most romantic part of the day, which is why it’s so important. Who doesn’t love watching a couple in love, gazing into each others eyes with complete adoration for each other??
