On Saturday 6th July, my wedding band, Sound, and I had the pleasure of performing at the gorgeous Tewinbury Farm Hotel for Matthew and Darren’s big day.
As a wedding singer, some moments remind me exactly why I love what I do. And this wedding was definitely one of those for me! It was such a fantastic day, and I can’t wait to share it with you. So read on to hear (and see) all about the big event.
Arriving at Tewinbury Farm Hotel
The band’s day started with a 4 hour drive to Hertfordshire in the pouring rain. But here at Live Band Entertainment we don’t let little things like a bit of wet weather or a long distance drive put us off from making your live music dreams come true! We’ll travel to wherever you are (no matter how soggy we might be when we get there!)
Despite the weather, I was so excited for Matthew and Darren’s big day. And things only got better once I set eyes on the venue.
Tewinbury Farm Hotel in Welwyn, Hertfordshire is a stunning barn-style venue set on a 700-acre working farm. Based in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, it boasts decades of experience and a keen eye for detail. The 17th-century tythe barn adds a touch of rustic charm, making a dreamy backdrop for anyone’s big day.

A warm welcome
As soon as the band and I arrived, one of the grooms, Matthew, came running over, shouting about how excited he was to see me. He even mentioned he booked Sound just because he loved my singing! It was such a sweet moment, especially since we’d never met before. Two minutes later, his husband Darren ran over with the same excitement. Needless to say, I felt like a total celebrity!

Raising the roof
With our wedding band all set up and ready to go, there was only one thing left to do – get our groove on! The love in the room from Matthew, Darren, and their friends and family was amazing. From the moment we started playing, the energy was through the roof. We felt such an incredible connection with everyone there.
Our performance was a huge hit, and we really gave it everything we’d got to raise the roof for the gorgeous grooms. Matthew and Darren were so happy, and their smiles said it all. Just check out their moves in this great video from the day!
Moments like these remind me how important our job as a wedding band is. Sometimes, we all need a little reminder of why we do what we do, and this wedding was definitely a great one for me!
Feeling the love from Matthew, Darren and their guests made me think about just how important it is to feel brilliant and appreciated from time to time.
